The birthday of the United States Marine Corps was was November 10, 1775. This poem was written some time ago, but I thought it appropriate to post it here just a week before the birthday is celebrated.. The title is accurate. I became a marine at age 19, and I am still a marine at age 86. It was my privilege to serve this country in two wars, and I am one of the fortunate ones who survived both. I am proud to still call myself a marine.
