Feel free to comment liberally on all posted poetry. We all enjoy someone taking time to recognize our work in a positive way. All postings fall under copywright protection and all rights belong to the author.
Any lengthy discussions will not be allowed in the regular forums. These discourses are encouraged in the Hear Ye Hear Ye forum. Argumentative or negative comments are not welcome and, at the discretion of Flowing Quills administrators, will be moved or the author banned if considered hurtful to an individual or the community. Please conduct yourself in a polite, civil way with your fellow community members.
Please post your work by following three simple guidelines:
1. Comment on at least 2 poems per forum before you post your work, and post no more than 2 original poems per forum per day. This will ensure that everyone receives the opportunity for many comments. If a participant refuses to follow this courtesy, their poems will be locked.
2. Often artists wish to receive suggestions from others, concerning form or clarity in message. If you want critique from fellow poets, place the comment "C & C" (Comment and Critique) in your title. i.e. "Flowing Quills (C & C)", otherwise comments will remain general. If you ask for a critique, then accept it politely. It is your choice whether to act on the suggestions or not. If you do not want a critique, do NOT put C & C in your title.
3. If your poetry contains sexually explicit pictures, words, or content, (Content Warning) to your title. The same is requested for topics containing violence or strong language. We prefer no censorship at Flowing Quills, but we must also protect the rights of others who might find certain subjects offensive.
POEM OF THE WEEK
A poem is chosen from each main forum each week. Poems must be submitted between Thursday and the following Wednesday, Quill Time. Moderators nominate their picks on Thursday. On Friday, special team members, rotating randomly, choose one poem from each forum. Poems receiving the majority of votes automatically win gold recognition. An administrator will break any ties. Poem of the Week is awarded the following Sunday and posted on a background at the top of the posted forum.
Poems will be moved to archives when they fall to the 3rd page of an active forum. These poems will be sent to your national archive. National archives will be purged from time to time at administration's discretion. Make sure you have a backup copy of all poetry posted at Flowing Quills.
If you are an active member of Flowing Quills and you have posted 1,000+ poems and comments, contact Annette to create your personal archive. As long as you are an active participant by posting at least once per month, your archive will be maintained. If you become an inactive participant, your personal archive will be deleted and your poetry retuned back to your national archive.
We hope you will enjoy many hours posting and reading here at the Quill! Please make yourself at home, and we look forward to getting to know you and your work. If you have questions, direct them to Annette through Quill mail.
